Dani Ceballos will leave on loan for another season at Arsenal according to a report from Jose Luis Sanchez of La Sexta and El Chiringuito.

Real Madrid and Arsenal are close to finalizing the deal. Arteta is a huge fan of the Spanish midfielder and Real Madrid were very happy with the player’s progress in the Premier Legaue last season. After Arteta’s arrival, Ceballos became a key player for the Gunners and was instrumental to their successful FA Cup campaign. Arteta has been vocal about his desire to see the player return and insinuated earlier this week that Ceballos wants the same.

“He told me pretty clearly that his intention was to stay at Arsenal but obviously we have to consider that Real Madrid are involved as well and I still don’t know their plan here,” said Arteta.

“We’re obviously interested in a player like him because, as we saw during the last few months of the season, he can give us a lot,” he added.

Another season at Arsenal and under Arteta will likely be the best move for all parties. Ceballos continues to play at a high level increasing his value and his development, while Arsenal get a key player returning without having to shell out significant cash. This will also give Arsenal the potential opportunity to purchase the player out right if the desire is there after another season and if Real Madrid are open to discussions.
