Manuel Pellegrini and Real Betis are very close to securing the singing of Brahim Diaz on a one year loan deal according to David Cejudo Alarcon of Onda Capital and Diario Sevilla.
The 21-year-old had been urged by the likes of Jose Angel Sanchez and Zidane to spend a year away in order to secure more minutes at the first division level. Manuel Pellegrini, the new manager at Real Betis, has been a long time admirer of Brahim’s talents. The Chilean first identified young Brahim while training Malaga from 2010-2013. When Pellegrini then took the step up to coach Manchester City and push their ambitious project from 2013-2016, it was the Chilean who recommended the club sign the jewel of Malaga’s academy. Now, Brahim Diaz has the chance to be the first signing under Pellegrini in his new project with Real Betis.
If Brahim Diaz does decide to leave on loan, he should be given assurances regarding his role and the minutes he would expect to play. Real Betis are a side currently boasting a lot of attacking players who play on the wings such as Nabil Fekir, Cristian Tello, Joaquin, Juanmi, and young Mexican Diego Lainez. In the sporadic minutes Brahim has been given under Zidane, he has consistently impressed, but fans yearn for a larger sample size to properly evaluate the true potential of the skillful Spanish winger.
