Real Madrid published their squad list for Friday’s match against Manchester City in the return leg of the Champions League’s Round of 16.

REAL MADRID SQUAD:

Goalkeeper: Courtois, Areola and Altube.

Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Ramos*, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Mendy and Javi Hernández.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde and Isco.

Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Lucas Vázquez, Jović, Asensio, Brahim, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

*The captain travels with the team but won’t be able to play in Manchester.

Coach Zinedine Zidane basically included every member of the squad with the exception of Mariano —who is still self-isolating at home after testing positive for Covid-19—, James Rodriguez and Bale —technical decision—, which clearly proves that the French coach just doesn’t want them around anymore. Other bench players like Brahim, Javi Hernandez or Nacho made the trip with the rest of the squad while James and Bale didn’t.

Real Madrid have a healthy squad and it will be interesting to see what Zidane does with his lineup.
