Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos wanted to review the team’s “atypical” 2019-2020 season after being knocked out of the Champions League against Manchester City last night. Madrid won their 34th Liga title but falling in the Round of 16 left “a bittersweet taste” on Los Blancos’ mouth.
An atypical and strange season comes to an end, it was tough for everyone. The taste on our mouth is bittersweet because we’re Real Madrid and we’re forced to win it all. We have to give credit to our Liga title, especially because it was such an exceptional one, and also to the Supercup, but we leave the Champions League a bit sad,” admitted Ramos.
The captain then looked ahead as the 2020-2021 Liga season is scheduled to kick off next month.
“We wanted more. It’s now time to get some rest to give our all next season, that’s what this badge and this history deserve. On our victories and defeats, always Hala Madrid. Thank you for your support, even in the distance,” concluded Ramos.
The defender will enter the last year on his contract with Real Madrid but it’s likely that he gets an extension fairly soon.
