Rayo Vallecano announces that Castilla left-back Fran García has joined them on a season loan.
The 21-year-old will join the Segunda División side for the duration of the 2020-21 season. His loan contract also includes an option to buy at its conclusion.
García has spent the last two seasons with Castilla. He made 27 appearances this past season, scoring a goal and an assist. He has become an integral part of the youth side as its starting left-back. He also spent time with Spain’s U19 squad.
He will likely get the chance to start at Rayo as both Antonio Luna and Saúl García’s loan deals are expiring. This gives him the best shot to log minutes with a senior side in hopes of eventually making the jump to La Liga.
García is signed with Real Madrid through 2022, but it is unclear what his future with the club will be given the option to buy that is included in his loan. He boasts a ton of potential and has cemented himself as a clear standout within the youth system in Madrid.
