Marco Asensio has been forced to abandon the Spain camp after an MRI showed he had edema in his left knee. Edema can be categorized as excess fluid build up in the knee and can cause swelling as well as pain.
After Marco Asensio ruptured his ACL last season, a minor injury like the one sustained with Spain camp is not uncommon. Reports coming out from the camp indicate that the injury is minor and at this point just a precaution to avoid any further pain or discomfort.
Marco Asensio will now return to Real Madrid to begin his recovery.
