It doesn’t seem to be official official yet, but all signs point to the fact that Real Madrid Femenino have made their 9th signing of the season by acquiring Claudia Florentino from Fundación Albacete for €20,000.
She has reportedly completed her medical and her signing is to be confirmed sometime on Monday.
Claudia is described as a “polyvalent,” or multi-purpose, center-back due to her ability to play in the back line and in defensive midfield. She has experience playing both in the top flight — for two seasons — and in Reto Iberdrola and will likely bring a level of grit and character that comes from constantly having to fight for survival.
Her versatility gives coach David Aznar plenty of options, but she is most likely to be used in central defense, where Madrid lack depth and arguably quality.
We will learn more about her and discuss her transfer on next week’s pod.
Euan McTear and Kiyan Sobhani discuss the distribution of minutes in midfield next season. Full episode:...
