Real Madrid completed their only friendly of the 2020 pre-season with a 6-0 win against Getafe. Neither team decided to report much about the game, although Getafe published their starting lineup for the match, one which was full of reserves.
Benzema scored four goals, Ramos added one and Arribas scored the other. Madrid reportedly used many academy players, especially after half-time. Apparently, all six goals were scored during the first 45 minutes, when the team used its strongest lineup.
Madrid and Getafe took this match as a mere training session, with both sides trying to improve their physical condition ahead of their season openers this upcoming weekend.
For Madrid, players like Asensio, Isco, Odegaard and Hazard are still recovering and getting ready to play, so they couldn’t feature in the friendly. It will be interesting to see Zidane’s starting lineup against Real Sociedad next Sunday, even more so if some of those aforementioned players can’t get ready in time.
