Real Madrid announce squad for La Liga match against Real Sociedad

Real Madrid have published their squad list for Sunday’s season opener against Real Sociedad.

REAL MADRID SQUAD:

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Altube.

Defenders: Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Odriozola and Mendy.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Odegaard, Marvin and Arribas.

Forwards: Benzema, Mayoral, Jović, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

This will not be an easy game for Madrid, as they won’t have much depth on the wings. Rodrygo and Vinicius will almost certainly be the ones starting alongside Benzema if coach Zidane deploys a 4-3-3 formation. While Odegaard would also be an interesting piece on the right wing, he’s only been training with the rest of the squad for the last couple of days, so the Norwegian talent will likely have to wait for his chance to play off the bench.

Other than that, this is a fairly standard squad list for Madrid as the roster pretty much stayed put for this transfer window.
