The Spanish Women’s National Team traveled to Moldova on September 19 for their third match of UEFA Euro Qualifying.

Spain got off to a quick start. Marta Corredera played a through pass to Alba Redondo, with the latter showing off her fancy footwork to get past two defenders and find Lucía García, who opened the scoring.

Less than five minutes later, the ball was in the back of the net again. Corredera fired in a beautiful cross to García, who tapped the ball towards the net. It was officially ruled an own goal after a touch from a defender.

Mariona Caldentey added a third and Jennifer Hermoso added a fourth. Corredera had a hand in creating both goals. She played a chip ball to the on-rushing Redondo, who assisted Mariona. Hermoso scored a point blank header after Corredera dropped a pinpoint cross on her head.

García added her second before halftime to make it 5-0 and Redondo grabbed one of her own to make it 6-0.

Spain picked up where they left off in the second period. Mariona scored two more to complete her hat-trick and Patricia Guijarro also converted.

Marta Cardona made a brief substitute appearance and looked dangerous on the right flank.
