No surprise, but James Rodriguez to Everton is all but done. Fabrizio Romano, who’s been bang on about everything, reported today that medicals are scheduled between James and Everton, and that Carlo Ancelotti was a key figure in landing the Colombian in England, given the history between the two and the relationship between them.
Medicals scheduled for James Rodriguez as new Everton player. Paperworks completed between #EFC and Real Madrid. Ancelotti called him so many times... key man to get the Colombian star #James #HereWeGo https://t.co/JDMsnThf0o

The James - Ancelotti marriage has been anticipated, in some ways. When James went to Bayern, Ancelotti was sacked shortly after, and we never got to see Ancelotti use James like the 2015 days again. It is somewhat exciting from a neutral standpoint to see the two reunited again.
As Kiyan Sobhani noted on Twitter, the football world needs to see James play regularly again:
James's per 90 numbers offensively, across the board, are -- insane -- this season. I'd rather see him at a lower tier team. He's someone who would be in the highlight reel regularly if he played every week.
