Reports from the Spanish press said that Odegaard had tested positive but it looks like his second test confirmed he’s negative for Covid-19.

Real Madrid have announced via an official statement that every single player and member of the coaching staff have tested negative for Covid-19, meaning that Odegaard’s first test was a false positive.

Real Madrid C. F. informs that after the last COVID-19 tests carried out on our football first team and the coaching staff, all the results have come back negative.

This is massive news for Real Madrid, who will have Odegaard —and every non-injured member of the squad— available for Saturday’s match against Betis. Odegaard’s false positive would’ve been a disaster as he is trying to get relevant minutes to prove his worth during this first stretch of the season.

It’s still very likely that Los Blancos will get a positive for Covid-19 on their squad down the road, but as long as they keep testing very often the squad should be fine.

Madrid face Betis on Saturday at 9pm CEST.
