Real Madrid players scrap bonuses
The squad has voluntarily informed the club that they will all donate their bonuses for the 19/20-campaign to the club, according to Marca. The players chose to do this as the Covid-19 situation is affecting the clubs finances. The bonuses would most likely be in the range of 500 000- 1 000 000 euros per player, so the money the club will save is quite substantial.
On this day 1953, Di Stefano made his debut for Real Madrid
The friendly against Nancy on 23 September 1953 did not perhaps feel like that of a huge deal, but one player debuting that day would go on to change the history of Real Madrid. Di Stafano, The Blond Arrow, started the match against the French opposition and scored on his debut. The first of many. He went on to wear the shirt for 11 years, scoring 308 goals during that time. Even with all the legends that have played for this club, Real Madrid still calls him “the best player of all time”.
