Real Madrid just announced that Brahim Diaz has joined AC Milan on a loan deal which will expire in June 2021. The deal was all but confirmed throughout the week but Brahim had to pass his medical and also his Coronavirus test, which he did after arriving in the Italian city on Wednesday.
Milan will not have an option to retain the player after the loan deal expires, so Brahim will certainly return to Real Madrid after this season.
The young attacker decided to stay in the Spanish capital for the 2019-2020 season even though coach Zinedine Zidane wanted him to accept another loan deal so that he could develop and get relevant minutes. That’s what he should get in Milan.
The Italian club are always expected to perform and compete, so Brahim will have to deliver and face pressure from the fans and also the Italian press, which will clearly benefit his development long term. If Brahim can get minutes as a starter on a consistent basis, he will be more than ready to compete for a spot in the 2021-2022 Real Madrid squad.
