Real Madrid just announced the deal with Arsenal for Dani Ceballos, who will play for the London-based club on a one-year long deal the 2020-2021 season. As with Brahim Diaz, Arsenal will not have an option to buy the player after the loan deal expires.

Extending Ceballos’ loan deal in Arsenal makes sense after the midfielder became a very important player for them during the last part of the past season. Ceballos adapted well to the Premier League after struggling early in the season and he will benefit from staying in the same club, where he will be able to keep developing and gaining confidence.

Ceballos wants to play for Spain in the 2021 UEFA Euro and being a relevant player for Arsenal will allow him to have a shot at making the list. If he does make an impact in London for a second straight season, he could compete for a spot in Real Madrid’s squad for the 2021-2022.
