Real Madrid will play two preseason matches prior to the start of La Liga. The first test will be a game against Rayo Vallecano. Andoni Iraola’s side, who recently signed La Fabrica graduate Fran Garcia, will come visit the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium for a match on Wednesday, September 9th. The players on international duty will not feature in this first match, so there may be some opportunities for the Cateranos — players like Sergio Arribas, Miguel Guttierez, and Pablo Ramon — all of whom impressed while playing in the UEFA Youth League.
The second preseason match will be played against Getafe. Given that the La Liga fixture between both teams was suspended due to each club’s involvement in the Europe in the latter part of last season, both teams will have the freedom in their schedule to play a friendly. The match will again be at the Alfredo Di Stefano on the 15th of September, it is expected that the full squad will be available.
Both games against neighboring Madrid clubs will be an opportunity to raise fitness levels and test tactical schemes before the start of the new campaign.
