Here is a quick roundup of this weekend’s UEFA Nations League matches which featured Madridistas.

*Note: The Spain - Ukraine game will be covered separately.

Sunday saw three matches featuring Madrid players with their national sides. Wales and Gareth Bale played first against Bulgaria. Bale played all 90 minutes this time around and was much more involved. He registered four shots with one being on target and completed 28 passes. Liverpool’s Neco Williams scored his first international goal and gave Wales the 1-0 victory.

Toni Kroos captained Germany in their 1-1 draw against Switzerland. He was a driver of possession and stayed tough on the ball. He also helped lead the buildup to Ilkay Gündogan’s opening goal. Germany turned the ball over way too much so it was no surprise when FC Basel’s Silvan Widmer scored the tying goal.

Serbia once again relegated Luka Jovic to bench duty and he did not sub on in their 0-0 draw with Turkey.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Raphael Varane played in France’s 1 - 0 win over Sweden. Varane played as the middle center-back in a 3-5-2 alongside Dayot Upamecano and Presnel Kimpembe. Varane was solid defensively, and the French defensive line had really good coverage, which Sweden struggled to find openings against.

Eden Hazard did not feature for Belgium in their 2 - 0 win over Denmark.
