Real Madrid are willing to pay half of Bale’s current salary if that’s necessary for him to leave and accept a smaller contract anywhere else, according to a report from The Telegraph. Los Blancos believe that Bale is quite simply refusing to leave Madrid if that means signing for less money than what he’s currently earning, so paying half of what he’s earning for the club could facilitate his departure.
Still, Madrid will need to find a club decided to sign Bale and pay him around €10 million/year, which is a bit unlikely considering the current market. A transfer fee seems to be off the table, so it will be interesting to see if Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett ultimately tries to find his client a new club, maybe in the Premier League.
Real Madrid got James’ contract off their books and also found new clubs for Brahim and Ceballos. Left-back Sergio Reguilon could be next on their list.
