Luka Jovic is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on loan for the remaining six months of the season, according to a report from MARCA and Goal Espana.

The Serbian has been told by Zidane, and the club, that he is free to negotiate with other clubs. Wolves and AC Milan are two clubs that were rumored to be interested, but a return to Eintracht Frankfurt seems most likely. The current intention is just to loan the striker out, without an option to buy, in order to get the minutes required at an important stage in Jovic’s career.

Jovic has only earned 3 starts and a total of 208 minutes this season, despite the club splashing €60 million on his signing just over a year ago. At the moment, Real Madrid feel it would not be possible to recoup that investment with a sale, unless Jovic can rediscover the form that made him one of the hottest commodities in Europe while on loan.

Mariano Diaz will now be the sole alternative to Karim Benzema for the rest of the season. The former Castilla striker has appeared to leap frog Luka Jovic in the pecking order. Mariano has played a total of 275 minutes, scoring 1 goal against Villarreal.
