Former Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker Ronaldo Nazario talked to Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport and discussed the signing of Achraf Hakimi for the Italian side.
“Achraf is an extraordinary player, Real Madrid got it wrong by losing him like that. Sometimes I think what would’ve happened had we played together, at such speed. He’s one of the biggest homeruns for Inter in the last 10 years,” said Ronaldo.
While Achraf’s potential is definitely great and his two seasons with Dortmund were a success, he hasn’t had an easy debut season for Inter so far.
Still, he would definitely be a quality asset to have on the current roster, especially if we consider that Madrid have been forced to play Lucas Vazquez —who is not a pure right-back— at that spot when Carvajal hasn’t been available.
Real Madrid could have an option to match any future offer Inter get for Achraf, according to some reports, so there’s still a chance he ends up playing in the Spanish capital if he performs at a high level. Achraf just turned 22 years old and has not reached his peak, so it will be interesting to see if Madrid consider him an option in the near future.
