Raul Gonzalez has tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be present on the sidelines for this weekend’s match against Getafe B, according to Marca.
The Madrid newspaper reports that despite strong protocols to stop the virus from effecting the team, its proving a difficult battle to fight for the reserve sides. So far, five Castilla matches have been suspended with three of those due to COVID-19 breakouts, two being a breakout in the Castilla squad. Raul has managed to avoid catching the virus and spent a quiet Christmas in Lanzarote, playing tennis. The positive test was the last thing Castilla needed after a really tough start to the new year.
Provided the game goes ahead, one would presume that Castilla assistant manager, Alberto Garrido, will be on the sidelines for the Getafe game. Though, given the weather and this news, it’s not unreasonable to think the match will be postponed.
