Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard is expected to complete his loan deal to Arsenal this week. Odegaard will play for the London-based club until next summer, hoping to get relevant minutes and keep gaining experience and improving as a player, a role he didn’t get at Real Madrid.
Arsenal will pay close to €3 million for this loan deal, given that they are going to spend €2 million as a fee and then also a percentage of Odegaard’s salary with Real Madrid, according to a report published this weekend on British newspaper The Times.
Odegaard was one of the best midfielders in La Liga for Real Sociedad just a season ago, that being the main reason why Real Madrid decided to bring him back a year earlier than expected. However, he hasn’t played much and ultimately requested Madrid to send him out on loan so that he can be an important player elsewhere.
