Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal is ready to make his return from injury and will almost certainly be available when Los Blancos take on Levante this next Saturday, according to reports published on the Spanish press.
Carvajal was expected to play last weekend but felt some kind of discomfort during last week and decided to take a cautious approach and wait a bit longer before stepping on the pitch. The defender should complete Tuesday’s training session with the rest of the squad and then make Real’s squad list on Friday.
Still, coach Zinedine Zidane —via assistant coach Davide Bettoni, who is in charge until Zidane tests negative for Covid-19— could decide to keep Carvajal on the bench and let him improve his conditioning, given how tricky muscle injuries are. Madrid’s next two games against Levante and Huesca should be manageable, so Zidane has room to make sure that Carvajal is 100% ready.
If that is the case, Lucas Vazquez will be the one replacing Carvajal in the starting lineup once again.
