Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic talked to the media in the press conference of his unveiling with Eintracht Frankfurt and discussed why he struggled ever since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.
“I think it had to do with the little time I was able to play. It’s never easy at a team like Real Madrid, where the style is different and the pressure is always very high. That’s why it was the best thing to take the step of leaving to come back here,” said Jovic about the matter.
The attacker went deeper into what happened and even acknowledged the fact that he could’ve done some things better.
“I was unlucky. Injuries took their toll on me and I didn’t do well in my private life either. I was lucky to have been able to train with the best players in the world on a daily basis. I’ve gained experience and I consider myself a better player now. Despite the fact that I wasn’t able to have continuity on the pitch, I take a lot of positive things from Madrid,” he added.
Jovic has already scored three goals for Eintracht and will likely make his return to Real Madrid next summer hoping to earn a more relevant role after improving his confidence during this second half of the season in the Bundesliga.
