Real Madrid attacking midfielder Reinier Jesus has decided not to leave Borussia Dortmund during this transfer window, according to a report published on Goal. Reinier only had eight appearances for Dortmund during the first half of the season and only managed to play around 100 minutes in all of them.

While it’s clear that this current situation isn’t ideal for Reinier’s development and growth as a player, Real Madrid let the player had the final decision about his future and he ultimately decided to stay, per that same report.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc answered a question about Reinier’s future in one of his last press conferences. Here’s what he had to say.

“We basically don’t want to give him up. If someone’s not happy because he’s getting few minutes, then we talk and make a decision, but we won’t be the ones asking him to leave,” said Zorc.

Reinier’s loan deal doesn’t expire until the summer of 2022, so he will have another decision to make at the end of the current season if he keeps being behind many players in the rotation.
