Real Madrid seem to be assuming that team captain Sergio Ramos will leave the club next summer, when his current contract with Los Blancos expires. That’s what Josep Pedrerol from El Chiringuito reported last night, adding that the negotiations have stalled and that Ramos told president Florentino Perez that he would “entertain offers.”
Pedrerol also explained that Madrid are offering Ramos two different options to extend his contract. One would give him an additional year keeping his current salary while the other would be a two-year contract with a 10% decrease in salary.
Ramos is free to negotiate any contract with any club since January 1st, and he could even sign his future contract now if the offer is good enough. Real Madrid are in a similar situation with Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, although reports from the Spanish press suggest that an agreement with Modric is very close and could be announced shortly.
