On Friday, Deportes Cope interviewed Real Madrid Femenino captain Ivana Andrés on their radio program Tiempo de Juego. Andrés spoke about the upcoming Clásico, the documentary ‘Un Sueño Real,’ and more:

“It is a luxury and a responsibility to be the captain, I am motivated and eager.”

“We have only played one game against them, we have to get better to make it a Clásico. They have been working together for many years, we [haven’t had as much time] but the evolution is very good.”

When asked if she would sign up for a draw against FC Barcelona: “We would not sign for the draw, we play to win all the games. Logically it will be a difficult game where we must compete but I will not accept a draw.”

“Last year was a huge result, but this year we are here and we are going for everything.”

When asked about ‘Un Sueño Real’: “I’ve seen it, it’s cool, there are players who have won titles and some who hadn’t played in the Primera [división]. It’s difficult but we must learn from everything and we must all learn from everyone.”

Andrés on the team’s current position: “Nobody expected us to be second, it is the result of work since July and the whole commitment of the club — they give us everything we need.”

Andrés on her injury: “I am recovered and I am not missing that game.”

The captain’s message to fans and society as a whole: “I would like to send a message to the whole of society There are people who are having a bad time, they lost relatives and the club wants to send the message to be responsible.”

Real Madrid Femenino travel to Barcelona to play the second Clásico of the season on Sunday at 12:00 CET (6:00 am EST).
