Celta Vigo manager Eduardo Coudet, who has done such a tremendous job at turning Celta Vigo around in a positive direction since taking over from previous manager Oscar Garcia (as our Jose Perez outlined extensively here), spoke to the press after his side fell to Real Madrid 2 - 0 at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano on Saturday night.
Coudet mentioned more than once after the game that Real Madrid’s first goal was a huge moment.
“From being able to go 0-1, to finally going 1-0 on that same play, it is difficult, but we have to keep working, improving, Coudet said. “We have tried the game of equal to equal with a rival of a lot of hierarchy. Perhaps we have lacked risk situations in proportion to what we had the ball, and improve, not be repetitive with internal passes. That has generated us some more losses “
“I think the first goal kills us; because we had started the game well, we had Iago’s chance, but it is true that although we have had arrivals, we have not made the chances,” Coudet continued. “And the second goal, It was an error of a pass that we put inside. In the end, two goals of transitions, we knew that it is their strength and that we could not give them margin.”
