Lucas Vazquez, who scored Real Madrid’s winning goal in a 2 - 0 win against Celta Vigo on Saturday night at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano, spoke to the media after the game.
Vazquez has been Real Madrid’s right-winger for some time now, and has rewarded Zidane’s faith in him with tremendous performances during nearly all of his minutes.
“I’m playing a lot and I’m very grateful for the opportunities that the manager has given me,” Vazquez said. “I hope I can keep helping the team and my teammates. We’ll see what happens with the renewal. It’s not just down to me.”
Like Marco Asensio, Vazquez also spoke about the team’s high press:
“After the draw against Elche we wanted to play with aggression and press high up the pitch which helped us for the goal,” Vazquez continued. “From now on everything is important. We’re in a good spell. The team is playing really well and we’re picking up wins. If we keep winning games we’ll have a chance to win things at the end of the season.” “The league has been very competitive. There are no easy games because every team makes it difficult for us. Atletico has the advantage, but we’ll keep fighting right until the end for everything”.
