Dani Ceballos is spending his second season in London, on loan to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. The Gunners have endured a terrible first half of the season. Ceballos himself has been inconsistent — no where near the player that was dictating play against the likes of City and Chelsea in the FA Cup last summer.
With only six months remaining on his current loan deal, Ceballos took to Spanish radio station, El Laguero, to talk about his situation.
“A third year on loan? No, my goal is to return to Real Madrid and be important at the best club in the world,” Ceballos told Alvaro Benito on El Laguero.
“I believe that one day I will come back and be able to return the affection that the fans showed me. For various reasons, I didn’t leave the club in the best manner,” Ceballos revealed.
While at Real Madrid, Ceballos coincided with Zidane and found minutes very hard to come by. Upon Zidane’s departure in the summer of 2018, Ceballos revealed that he would have left had Zidane stayed. Though, he has since back-tracked on those comments and has been positive regarding Zidane’s re-appointment.
“The arrival of Zidane was great news for Real Madrid. I think there is no better manager for Madrid than him.”
Lastly, Ceballos was asked about Sergio Ramos’ renewal. “I spoke with Ramos today and if I had to bet I would say that he is renewing for Real Madrid. I think he wants to finish his career there”.
