Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane could miss the team’s next match against Osasuna —Saturday— due to La Liga’s contact tracing protocole regarding Covid19, according to reports from AS, MARCA and El Chiringuito.
Zidane tested negative for the virus early this Thursday but he will have to confirm the result of that test with a second one. Even if he tests negative once again, La Liga’s contact tracing protocol could force Zidane to be away from the team when Los Blancos face Osasuna.
La Liga established that the second negative test would need to happen at least three days after the first one. That means that Zidane simply doesn’t have the time to meet those requirements. Assistant coach Davide Bettoni would be in charge of the team.
If Zidane keeps testing negative for the virus, he should be ready to be with the team when Los Blancos face Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Supercup Semifinal next week.
