Real Madrid will face Segunda Division B side Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey Round of 32. Alcoyano are currently fourth in their Segunda B Group, so this is a good draw for Madrid.

Coach Zinedine Zidane will almost certainly use these two legs to make rotations and give minutes to reserves like Militao, Jovic, Odriozola or Odegaard, who need minutes and confidence in order to be relevant later in the season.

It’s been a while since Real Madrid aren’t successful in the Copa del Rey, so it would be great to see coach Zidane and the roster take the competition seriously if they manage to advance the first couple of rounds.

The final date for Real Madrid’s matches against Alcoyano have not been set yet —the first leg will be played either on January 20th or January 21th—, but Los Blancos will definitely have a busy schedule for the next couple of months, given that they will also feature in the Spanish Supercup starting next week.
