Monaco defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is on Real Madrid’s radar as Los Blancos try to find another defensive midfielder on the market, according to a report published today on MARCA.
While Camavinga, Antonio Blanco and even Fede Valverde can eventually replace Casemiro as defensive midfielders, Madrid think Tchouameni’s skill set replicates better what Casemiro brings to the table, something which would also allow Camavinga, Blanco and Valverde to play as central midfielders.
Tchouameni is 21 years old and is already a starter for the French national team now that Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante is injured. He is under contract with Monaco until 2024 and other big clubs like Chelsea and Juventus are scouting his games as they know he could be an intriguing signing.
Kylian Mbappe is still Real Madrid’s priority for the 2022 transfer window, but Los Blancos will be able to afford more signings given that Bale, Marcelo and Isco’s contracts will be off the books then. If Tchouameni keeps performing at a high level, Los Blancos might want to fight for his signing in 2022.
