Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has always had praise and encouraging words about Eden Hazard. Hazard has struggled with injuries ever since he joined Real Madrid but Martinez believes he can still be his former self, as he said in an interview with Cadena SER’s El Larguero last night.

“Hazard fighting for a Ballon D’Or in the future? No question, his first half againstFrance gives me belief. It’s true hat his situation is not ideal and what’s happening with him in Spain is very atypical, we’re all worried about it. He’s the kind of player who needs to play heavy minutes in order to reach his best possible condition, he was perfect from a medical standpoint. If he can be at the level he showed during the first 45 minutes against France I’m sure he will give us success,” said Martinez.

Hazard picked up a minor muscle fatigue during this FIFA break but it looks like he managed to escape a real, serious muscle injury. The attacker should be available when Madrid take on Shakhtar next week but Los Blancos could also keep him out of that game so that he can be fresh and ready to face Barcelona in El Clasico, which will be played on October 24th.
