Real Madrid have published their squad list for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk, the first game for Los Blancos after the past FIFA break and also the last before El Clasico.

REAL MADRID’S SQUAD LIST

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Luis López.

Defenders: Militao, Alaba, Vallejo, Nacho, Lucas Vázauez, Marcelo, Mendy and Miguel Gutiérrez.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Camavinga and Blanco.

Attackers: Benzema, Asensio, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Mariano.

As expected, both Ferland Mendy and Marcelo are back with the team. They have been training for the last few days and could get some minutes against Shakhtar because the presence of either one of them —but mostly Mendy— against Barcelona could be crucial, given how badly the team has struggled on defense so far this season.

Hazard and Carvajal will miss the game and should therefore be considered doubtful for Sunday’s El Clasico.

Madrid need the three points in order to bounce back from the disappointing defeat to Sheriff in the second game of this current Group Stage of the Champions League.
