Real Madrid visit Barcelona in what is the first El Clasico of the 2021-2022 season. While Barça seem to be on a downward spiral and Madrid are coming off an encouraging 0-5 away win against Shakhtar, fans should make no mistake. Barcelona are just two points behind Madrid in the table and can still compete for the title.
Barcelona predicted XI: Ter Stegen, Mingueza, Pique, Eric Garcia, Alba, Busquets, De Jong, Gavi, Fati, Dest, Memphis.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Nacho, Militao, Alaba, Mendy, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Benzema.
The two positions on Real Madrid’s right wing seem to be the only ones still open for Los Blancos. with Nacho, Vazquez and Valverde competing for the right-back spot and Rodrygo, Valverde —again— and Asensio having a chance to start alongside Benzema and Vinicius depending on what Ancelotti has in mind in terms of game plan.
On paper, Real Madrid have the better team and could be considered the favorites. However, Ancelotti’s men have been unreliable defensively this year and could struggle containing Fati and Memphis, so Barcelona should have chances to score.
