FC Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman spoke to the media after his team lose 1 - 2 to Real Madrid in a Sunday Clasico at the Camp Nou. Koeman spoke about his team’s performance, Real Madrid, and more.
“It’s true that we were good in the first half, we controlled the game well,” Koeman said. “We had a great opportunity to get ahead on the scoreboard. But in the second half, they did their part and defended themselves well and we couldn’t create danger. With their counterattack you have to be vigilant. The team did their best to tie, even with 1-2. This disappointed by the result but not by what we have done as a team.“
“They are even matches, where they play their game and we try to do ours. The details greatly influence the result. It’s a shame. We had opportunities and we deserved it.”
“I understand the frustration of the people,” Koeman continued. “But today we have shown that we are not inferior to Real Madrid. If we had scored 0-1 and not suffered 1-0, everything would have changed.”
