Raul de Tomas, scorer of Espanyol’s first goal against Real Madrid on Sunday afternoon after beating Lucas Vazquez to the near post, spoke to the media after his team’s 2 - 1 win over Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
“It was a tremendous effort from the team,” Raul de Tomas said. “Real Madrid demands a lot. We raced until the last minute. We were able to make it 3-0 on Sergi Darder’s play, but I congratulate the team because they have done a tremendous job.”
The former Real Madrid striker also spoke about his love for Los Merengues.
“Obviously, I have a Madridista past and I consider myself a Madridista,” de Tomas explained. “But I work for my team. We have beaten the leader of the competition, we have to be very satisfied. Let this not stay here, we must transfer it after the stop “
