Real Madrid visit Elche only three days after the team’s disappointing 0-0 draw at home against Osasuna. Los Blancos need to start showing some consistency if they truly want to compete for the 2021-2022 Liga title and this away game seems to be a good opportunity for them to do so.
Still, Real Madrid will be without Karim Benzema. The French striker missed Friday’s training session and coach Carlo Ancelotti ultimately decided to give him some rest today. That means that Los Blancos will have to trust Luka Jovic to get the job done offensively, and the Serbian forward has not played much so far this season. Other options could be used, like Rodrygo or even Asensio replacing Benzema in the center of the offensive line, so it will be interesting to see what Ancelotti decides to do.
On the other hand, Modric will return to the starting lineup, which should help the team’s creativity and playmaking skills.
