Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro talked to ESPN in an interview where he praised most of his teammates, but mainly his partners in the midfield line Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
“To play these many years in the world’s biggest club is a privilege, and I believe I will only grasp what I built when my career ends. To play alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos is an honor. I will value the fact that I played with them for so many years and I will tell my grandchildren that I had the opportunity to play with two icons of football, two exceptional players,” said Casemiro.
Vinicius and Benzema are leading Madrid’s offense this season and Casemiro wanted to praise them as well.
“I can say that Vinicius is having the best moment of his career, it’s a special moment for him and he’s still young, so he has room for improvement. About Benzema, it’s an honor to play with him and I truly support him so that he can win the Ballon D’Or this season,” added the midfielder.
Casemiro was asked about the differences between Zinedine Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti.
“Every coach has his own way of working and luckily enough we are adapting well to Carlo Ancelotti’s style, as we did with Zidane for many years. I would like to highlight one thing about Ancelotti though, he’s a 62-year-old man who has spent more than 40 years in football, has conquered everything and still has an unbelievable determination to win and teach us with his experience,” explained the midfielder.
The ESPN reporter then asked Casemiro about N’Golo Kante, who was an instrumental player for Chelsea as the London-based club won the Champions League last season. Casemiro concluded his interview by delivering a quality answer.
“I would like for you to answer this question, but I’d like to remind everyone that Kante, who is an extraordinary player, has played in a different role for Chelsea, with more freedom to attack and with Jorginho as the defensive midfielder. It’s also important to mention that there are other top players in my position like Busquets or Fabinho, but I am happy to be mentioned as one of the best, I’m happy and I keep working to improve more and more,” he said.
