Real Madrid attacker Karim Benzema rejoined the squad in training this Monday and will be available when Los Blancos face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League this Wednesday.
Benzema missed Madrid’s match against Elche this past Saturday as coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to give him some rest after what has been an intense start of the 2021-2022 campaign for the Frenchman.
Benzema’s return to the lineup is great news for Madrid. On the other hand, Ancelotti will be without Rodrygo, who suffered a hasmtring injury on Saturday and will need to miss the next few games. Lucas Vazquez, Hazard, Asensio or Fede Valverde will be competing for the spot on the right wing until Rodrygo comes back.
Real Madrid need to beat Shakhtar in this game given that Los Blancos are not leading their group just yet, with Sheriff in command after their surprising win at the Santiago Bernabeu last month.
