Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has been named to the Forbes list of 100 wealthiest Spaniards for 2021 (via MARCA).
Pérez was placed 12th on the list with a valuation of 1.7 billion euros and was the highest of three LaLiga presidents ranked by Forbes. He is also the chairman of the Spanish civil engineering firm Grupo ACS, which contributes to his wealth.
Villarreal president Fernando Roig was also placed on the list in the 15th spot with a valuation of 1.4 billion euros. Like Pérez he has other interests aside from football including sitting as the chairman of Spanish ceramic company Pamesa and as a 9% owner of Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona.
The last LaLiga club executive on the list is Atletico Madrid CEO and main shareholder Miguel Angel Gil Marin who is placed 67th on the list with a valuation of 400 million euros.
Pérez continues to serve as Real Madrid president after re-serving term as the club head in 2009. The Forbes list shows just how powerful and wealthy he is in comparison to many of his counterparts around football.
