Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior talked to the press right after the 2-1 win against Shakhtar, where he delivered two key assists to Karim Benzema. Vinicius was visibly happy after making such a big impact in the game.
“Playing at the Bernabéu brings me tremendous joy. The Bernabéu is always really supportive of me and I’m pleased that I’m doing well. It’s very important for me and for the team that we can continue like this, winning at home is very important for us,” he said.
His team struggled at times and Shakhtar looked menacing. Vinicius was asked about this matter and tried to explain why that happened.
“It was a really tough match against a good team, but we managed to win, which is the most important thing. We have to continue like this, do the things the coach asks us to do and keep going, because it’s a long season. We should celebrate today’s victory, but now we have to think about Saturday, which is really close,” he added.
The Brazilian winger was also asked about his two assists to Karim Benzema, who returned to the lineup scoring a crucial brace.
“I think it’s important to remain calm, confident and work as a team, which is what we always do in training. Now things are working out in the matches. I’m extremely pleased to have provided another assist for Karim. I always want to be at my best, as does Karim, and I want to continue helping him so that he can be Pichichi again and win the Ballon d’Or,” concluded Vinicius.
