Rayo Vallecano’s head coach, Andoni Iraola, spoke to the media ahead of his team’s clash against Real Madrid at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night.
Iraola spoke about the difference between playing against Barcelona and Real Madrid, Vinicius and Benzema, and more.
“It is not a matter of one or two details. We have to make very little mistakes,” Iraola said of the challenge of stopping Real Madrid. “that I always say. You have to do a lot of things well to get something out of the Bernabéu. If you let them do it and they find moments of brilliance, they have them. in all the games, they are differential“.
Iraola was also asked how Real Madrid’s most important player is.
“It is impossible to be left with just one player.” Iraola said. “They have many footballers who are the best in the world in their position. Maybe Benzemà and Vinicius lately because of their numbers, but practically in all positions they have elite players.”
Finally, Iraola was asked the difference between playing against Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“They are completely different games,” Iraola explained. “First of all, because we are going to lack the support of all our people by not being at home. But not only because of that but also because of the rival, the conditions, the moment of form. In the end, playing at the Bernabéu, being a larger field, with more spaces, more back and forth ... because there we have to have more control.“
