Spain coach Luis Enrique has called up Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal for the team’s next two games against Greece and Sweden, which will be played during the upcoming FIFA break. Carvajal returns to the list nine months after his last appearance and will be Madrid’s only player on the list.
The next two games for Spain will be crucial, given that Luis Enrique’s side have not clinched their presence in the 2022 FIFA World Cup just yet. Carvajal will be expected to start on Spain’s right-back as Luis Enrique just doesn’t have many options to choose from for that spot.
Carvajal has struggled with injuries for the last few seasons, so Real Madrid’s coaching and medical staff will keep their fingers crossed hoping that the Spanish right-back escapes any kind of physical problem during the FIFA break.
He is a crucial player for Los Blancos, so having him fresh and ready to play for the games immediately after the break will be important, as Madrid will face teams like Inter and Atletico de Madrid next December.
