Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola spoke to the media after his team lost 2 - 1 at the Bernabeu on Saturday night.

Andoni spoke about his team’s performance and struggles, the referee, and more.

”A good start,” Andoni said about his team’s performance. “We did not how to extend it and in one of those high pressures, they caught us. From their first goal they were more comfortable. In the second half we had more of the ball and after the goal I think we have had several occasions. We could’ve tied it, but they have defended very well.”

They have caught us in many transitions, and that takes away your confidence.” Andoni continued. “But I think that in the second half we dominated more, with more personality, although it didn’t give us to draw.”

Iraola was also about a potential penalty incident for his team, as well as the three minutes of added time.

“I can hardly tell you about the penalty,” Iraola said. “From my position it would be to throw a coin into the air because I have to see it repeated. If the added time bothers you a bit. We were already coming from Seville, with five stops only adding two minutes and today it is similar. It is no excuse, it probably would not have had an impact on the scoreboard.“
