José Luis Morales Continues Streak Against Real Madrid

José Luis Morales is a name many in the Real Madrid camp will be tired of seeing on the scoreboard every time the club faced off against Levante in recent seasons. The forward has been a thorn in Los Blancos’ side seasons notching three goals and an assist against Ramos and co. in the last three La Liga campaigns - including two goals since the start of last year alone.

There is a little bit of irony with Morales’ impressive record which many in the media haven’t been shy to highlight as the winger has previously spoken about his unsuccessful trials with the club. Although it is an interesting anecdote, it is not a particularly rare story given Real Madrid’s far reaching influence in Spanish football. Many professional players have come through its youth ranks or academy and gone on to reach great heights with other teams.

Morales’ goal which kickstarted Levante’s comeback on Saturday has put Real Madrid in a tough predicament after their rivals’ wins today. Barcelona are now ahead on goal difference after their abnormally poor start while Atletico Madrid are an astronomical 10 points clear with a game in hand. Zidane and the players will have to muster up as much energy and strength as possible to mount a credible title challenge.
