The players’ fault?
According to Marca, those in charge of the club place a lot of blame for the bad results on the players. Moreover, they are aware of this and will have to make a decision in the summer. A phrase the players have heard a lot is: “It’s time for them to wake up”. AS however reported that only winning the Champions League will allow Zidane to carry on as Real Madrid’s manager.
January was a dark month for Real Madrid.
Several events (some self inflicted, some not) took place making this a dark month for Los Blancos. Here are some of these events:
- Out of the league race.
- Copa Del Rey humiliation.
- Out of the Super-cup
- Jovic and Ødegaard asked to leave.
- Sergio Ramos is on the brink of leaving the club.
The first La Liga defeat with Mendy.
AS: Against Levante, it was the first defeat in La Liga with Mendy starting the game. He had a streak of 32 games played with 24 wins and 8 draws. With the defender failing to impose himself offensively, Madrid might want to think about brining back Reguilon.
Another bad game for Militão. When will Ramos be back?
According to AS, Militão is disappointed to have caused another red card on himself. He started 21 games for Real Madrid: 11 wins, 2 draws, and 8 losses. Another crucial player for Los Blancos is Ramos. Without him, Real has lost 5 and only 3 with him playing.
ICYMI: Mauricio Pochettino: “One day I would like to coach Real Madrid”
In this article by Matt Wiltse, newly appointed PSG manager, Mauricio Pochettino, once again revealed his admiration for Real Madrid.
