Real Madrid’s away game against Valladolid could be a tricky one given the circumstances. Karim Benzema will not be available and Los Blancos are facing Atalanta in a crucial Champions League game next Wednesday, so coach Zinedine Zidane won’t have much depth at his disposal even though he’d probably like to manage his roster and make some rotations.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Lucas Vazquez, Varane, Nacho, Mendy, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Asensio, Vinicius, Mariano.
Valladolid predicted XI: Masip, Perez, Gonzalez, Fernandez, Nacho, Perez, Alcaraz, Mesa, Orellana, Weissman, Guardiola.
Mariano will almost certainly get a chance to make an impact after Benzema’s injury. The Frenchman missed Friday’s training session and is questionable for Wednesday’s match against Atalanta, so Mariano needs every minute he can play in order to gain some confidence and momentum just in case he needs to be on the field for the first leg against the Italian side. Vazquez will replace Carvajal at the right-back spot while Isco will likely be Madrid’s only first-team player on the bench.
