Can Real Madrid complete another solid performance before the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16?

Two weeks ago, it looked like Real Madrid’s chances of winning La Liga title were done. Atletico de Madrid have dropped points since and while they’re still very much in control of their own destiny, Real Madrid should at least try to put some pressure on them when they face Valladolid this night.

Problem is, coach Zinedine Zidane won’t have a deep squad and he will also have to think about the upcoming match against Valladolid in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, which will be played next Wednesday.

Karim Benzema will be out against Valladolid and backup striker Mariano Diaz will be required to make an impact from the get go, a role that doesn’t suit him as well as when he comes off the bench against a tired defensive line. Vazquez will also replace Carvajal as the right-back.

Either way, Madrid clearly have what it takes to make this game a comfortable one.
